OBA Professional Development PROGRAM | Original Program Date: March 23, 2021

The Ontario Class Action Bench-Bar Liaison Committee, established in 2018, develops practice initiatives to improve the conduct of class proceedings and facilitates communication between the bench and bar. It is composed of nine members from the bench and twelve from the bar.

Recently, the Committee assisted with the implementation of amendments to the Consolidated Provincial Practice Direction regarding costs outlines and judges’ book of authorities filed in certification and other motions. In response to recommendations made by the Law Commission of Ontario in its 2019 report on Class Actions, the Committee also prepared a best practices guide for case management of these files. Our experienced faculty who worked on these initiatives will provide you with a greater understanding of how these new resources will play a key role in your class actions practice.

Join us for this valuable and practical discussion.
