OBA PROGRAM | 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (ET)

Law firms and legal departments successfully adapted to many challenges during the pandemic.  One of the latest quandaries is an unprecedented competition for legal talent.  The retention “issue” is not easily resolved with compensation increases, rather, leaders in the legal community must find creative ways to address evolving workplace functions and enhance supports to meet employees’ changing needs.

Join us for an in-depth session on how to tackle these complex challenges and tailor specific solutions to best serve your workplace.

Miriam Leung at The Counsel Network sets the stage to provide statistical analysis of recent client trends and candid insights into a few core reasons lawyers are leaving, as well as, attractive workplace features lawyers are searching for in the workplace.

Jamie Notter will share his deep expertise in workplace culture and provide concrete strategies on how to grow your culture to help drive retention and increase engagement in your workplace.  He has been featured in both Forbes and Harvard Business Review.

Lynda Collins, a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, will then discuss how to enable retention in the workplace by fostering the foundations of happiness in the practice of law. She pioneered Ontario’s first law school credit course in Happiness in the Law and co-chaired Canada’s first international symposium on Teaching Well-being in the Law. She offers CPD-accredited courses, including Happiness in the Law for Mentors and Managers.

Gain invaluable insight from our expert panel to help guide you in your own efforts in building better, more modern, healthy, workplaces where lawyers can thrive. Register today!
