ON

OBA Insurance Law PROGRAM | 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (ET)

The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (“FSRA”) protects the rights of consumers by promoting high standards of business conduct and transparency within, but not limited to, the insurance sector. FSRAO has adopted a principles-based regulatory approach (“PBR”) which focuses on outcomes; since its launch in 2019, it has been identifying regulatory principles which inform its guidance and rules.

This exceptional program will provide an important update on FSRA’s journey in using PBR to begin to transform the insurance sector. It will report on this new regulatory agency’s strategy, challenges, and collaborative approach as well how it has enhanced enforcement to better protect consumers. This is a can’t-miss opportunity for insurance law practitioners to hear from FSRA and share their questions and observations regarding FSRA’s PBR journey.
