Civil Litigation: An Outline of SGI’s No-Fault Injury Coverage and Legal Litigation Department

Saskatchewan Government Insurance is a Crown Corporation with a complex structure and multifaceted operations across five jurisdictions. In Saskatchewan, SGI wears multiple hats – acting as a program administrator, a government insurer, and a private market insurer. Most of the litigation involving SGI originates from Saskatchewan's auto insurance programs, which are governed by The Automobile Accident Insurance Act. We will provide an overview of SGI’s corporate structure, its Legal Division, and its operations in each jurisdiction. We will explore Saskatchewan’s auto insurance products, placing particular emphasis on no-fault injury coverage and the associated tort actions. We hope to provide you valuable insights into the intricacies of SGI's operations and the legal landscape within which it operates.
