Canadian Bar Association - Alberta Branch
2021 Annual General Meeting

Join colleagues from around Alberta at the 2021 CBA Alberta Annual General Meeting. Alberta Branch President David Hiebert will update the membership on the activity of CBA Alberta over the past year and national President Bradley Regehr will bring greetings to Alberta members.

We are also pleased to welcome keynote speaker Chelsy Castro, founder of Castro Jacobs Psychotherapy and Consulting. Chelsy is a lawyer turned psychotherapist and career strategist who will be sharing her presentation Balancing the Seesaw: Skills for Succeeding as a Lawyer While Being Human. As lawyers, the lines between life and work are often blurred to the detriment of both our professional and personal well-being. Constant striving without the application of techniques to draw and maintain healthy boundaries and work practices for our brains accelerates a lawyer's vulnerability for burnout and mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. This program trains lawyers to apply practical science-based techniques to strike the balance between professional and personal life, not through rigidity, but through brain science and intentional action.

NOTE: Please note that while all CBA Alberta members are welcome to attend the Annual General meeting, voting is limited to active regular members, including honourary past presidents and scholar members. If you are unsure of your membership status and voting rights, please contact the CBA Alberta office at mail@cba-alberta.org.
