Summary Trial - Tips, Tactics, Tricks and Traps for the Contemporary Practitioner

Synopsis
Joel and Layne will provide practical guidance on bringing and responding to summary trial applications. This presentation will focus on strategies to assess the likelihood of success on a summary trial application, as well as the procedural tools available to both parties. Beyond the Rules, this presentation will focus on the practicalities of the process, as well as issues relating to the presentation of evidence, including electronically.


Speaker Bio
- Joel V. Payne is an experienced trial and appeals lawyer practicing at his newly-minted own shop, Payne Litigation, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Layne Hellrung is a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer practicing at Fasken in Vancouver.
