Detective Haras of the Vancouver Police Department will provide insight to family lawyers on the powers, policies and procedures of the VPD when presented with custody orders and protection orders, as well as criminal sanctions from custody breaches and criminal code offences (powers of arrest).

The goal of the discussion is to inform lawyers of what the police can do when interacting with family law clients and how lawyers can better draft orders and advise  clients in a way that is sensitive to the role of police forces.
