It is becoming increasingly challenging to deal with Canada Revenue Agency tax audits, and the ensuing disputes and litigation processes. Audits can carry on for months or years and can be resource intensive for clients, and disruptive to their businesses. The frustration with this process is often compounded when litigation is necessary. The presentation will address recent developments and trends relating to tax disputes and tax litigation, and will discuss strategies for practitioners in assisting their clients to respond to overreaching audit demands, and for resolving their clients’ tax disputes efficiently.
