ONLINE MEETING: Fireside Chat with Justice Lindsay Lyster, speaking on "What I Wish I Knew When I First Started Practice"

Synopsis

In this "Fireside Chat" event, Justice Lyster will speak on the topic of "What I Wish I Knew When I First Started Practice."  There will be a Q&A session after her remarks.

Speaker Bio

Justice Lyster has had a distinguished and varied career.  She served as law clerk to the Chief Justice of Canada, practiced as a highly-regarded member of the labour, administrative, and human rights bar, and was a member of the BC Human Rights Tribunal from 2002-2010, where she rendered many leading decisions.  She led the BC Civil Liberties Association as President for several years, acted as pro bono counsel for a variety of social justice organizations, and served as an adjunct professor at the Allard School of Law, where she taught labour arbitration, administrative, human rights and constitutional law. Justice Lyster was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2018 and was appointed as a justice of the British Columbia Supreme Court in 2020.
