This meeting is being hosted by the Women Lawyers Forum Education Committee.

Speaker(s): Paula Price, Lawyer and Executive Coach
Update: Ritu Goswamy, ESQ, Author of The New Billable Hour: Bill More Hours, Be More Productive and Still Have a Work Life Balance
Time: Thursay, May 14, 2020 at 5:00pm - 6:00pm (PT)
CPD Hours: 1.00 hour (Professional Ethics & Practice Management)

If you haven’t registered, you still have time. Join Ritu and Paula for a screen-side chat about balancing self-care and productivity while sheltering in place.

What does “work - life balance” mean to you? What impact has “social distancing” had on the way you live and practice law? Now that you’ve taken your work home with you – literally! – how are you balancing it all with your family, health and social pursuits… all under one roof?

Many lawyers have struggled for years with their “work-life balance.” Ritu Goswamy, ESQ has written about that struggle – and offered solutions – in her book, The New Billable Hour: Bill More Hours, Be More Productive and Still Have Work Life Balance. Goswamy’s suggestions around self-care and mindfulness predate the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are highly relevant today. As we each adapt to our “new normal”, there’s no better time to explore and develop practices to promote health and productivity and find our personal balance!

At our WLF Book Club event, we will discuss Goswamy’s book and explore the following:

  • How to develop a plan for self care that works for you;
  • What key messages from the book can be incorporated into your practice, and which cannot;
  • How your approach to balance in your life has been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic; and
  • The takeaways that you will bring with you into your “new normal”.

And – virtual drumroll – we are delighted to welcome Ritu Goswamy, ESQ, author of The New Billable Hour, who will be joining us LIVE from her home in Santa Cruz, California. The magic of virtual connection has already begun!

The WLF Education Committee is pleased to have Lawyer and Executive Coach Paula Price facilitate this discussion in a convenient Zoom webinar format. In her coaching practice, Paula helps lawyers with time management skills. Paula has first hand experience in a busy law practice and working from home during the pandemic with a full house. Paula strongly believes that social distancing does not mean social disconnection. Her goal for this virtual gathering is for you to log off with ideas you can put into practice, feeling like you’ve just spent an evening chatting with good friends.

The book for this book club can be purchased online or downloaded for FREE.

We encourage you to read the book ahead of time and participate in the webinar. Please feel free to have a glass of wine or some snacks during the event!

Note to Registrants from Paula Price:
