Synopsis
The Land Owner Transparency Act (LOTA) received royal assent on May 16, 2019 and will come into force later this year. LOTA is part of the BC government’s comprehensive plan to end hidden ownership of real estate in BC. This important legislation will be administered by the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA) through the Land Owner Transparency Registry (LOTR), the first of its kind in Canada.
Reuben Danakody, Director of LOTR Services, will provide participants with an overview of the Act, key filing requirements, and a demonstration of the registry.
Territorial Acknowledgement
This event will be broadcast from the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations.
