Synopsis

[Note to WiIlls & Trusts - Vancouver Section, please note that there is no regular section meeting in February.  This joint  (lunch) session is the only section meeting for February.]

The long-anticipated Land Owner Transparency Act, AKA the “LOTA” will introduce a publicly accessible register of beneficial interests in land, the “Land Owner Transparency Register”. Given its expected proclamation in late spring of 2020, lawyers will need to be informed and prepared to assist their clients in complying with the requirements of the LOTA.

In this joint section meeting, our panel comprised of lawyers practicing in the areas of corporate law, real estate law, and wills and trusts, along with the director of the Land Owner Transparency Registry at the LTSA, will share their own unique advice and recommendations for navigating this brand-new legislative landscape.

A buffet lunch with refreshments will be served. We expect this event will sell out and space is limited, so please register early.
