ONLINE MEETING: Elder Law for Indigenous Individuals and Communities
This meeting is being hosted by the Elder Law Section

Speaker(s): Michelle Isaak, DLA Piper (Canada) LLP
Time: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, 4:15pm - 5:15pm (PT)
CPD Hours: 1.00 hour
Synopsis

Michelle Isaak, DLA Piper (Canada) LLP will address some of the elder law issues that Indigenous people and communities experience, specifically in the areas of estate planning, incapacity planning, estate administration and committeeship. As legislative schemes impact many aspects of life for Indigenous people, lawyers ought to be mindful of how these frameworks may influence how estate and incapacity planning should be approached with Indigenous clients.

Michelle assists Indigenous clients navigate these issues and will speak from experience on what lawyers must consider when working with Indigenous clientele in matters related to elder law.
