CANNABIS IN THE REAL ESTATE CONTEXT

Synopsis
The speakers will dive into cannabis legalization as it pertains to commercial and real estate matters, with discussions regarding the state of the retail market locally, and considerations for lawyers acting in a lease negotiation.
Speaker Profile
Sylvia Lee has an extensive background in corporate and commercial law. Her practice focuses on providing general counsel to businesses with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, tax-incented investments, outsourcings, the formation and financing of business ventures, corporate reorganizations and corporate financing transactions.

Evan Cooke earned his law degree from the University of Windsor in 2005, and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2006 and the British Columbia Bar in 2007. He was a litigation partner of a large national law firm before joining Eyford Macaulay Shaw & Padmanabhan LLP in 2016, where he was the regional head of the Expropriation Law, Municipal Law, and Railway Law focus groups.
