Family Restructuring With the Child's Voice

This webinar will focus on the legal and moral obligations to hear the child's voice and the importance of bringing that voice into Alternative Dispute Resolution. The webinar will highlight the criteria lawyers should apply when choosing an ADR professional. Our expert panel will provide tips to lawyers regarding how to work with an ADR professional focused on family restructuring using the child's voice. Speakers will also cover child interviews by the ADR facilitator, non-evaluative views of the child reports as an alternative to costly mental health assessments and building child-centred mediation and arbitration processes.

Topics will include:

  • Obtaining the child's voice
  • Identifying a child (expert) mediator/arbitrator
  • Working with parents or with a child focused mediator
  • Using the UNCRC to inform the ADR process
