Envisioning Equal Justice Summit:
Building Justice for Everyone

April 25-27, 2013 | Vancouver, BC

For too long, we have been talking about an access to justice crisis, without tangible progress. For too many, equal justice is only an ideal, not the reality. And, the equality deficit grows as we stay stuck in an outdated and limited conversation, repeatedly bumping up against the same barriers.

At the same time, our knowledge base is growing, innovation is happening, and strategies are emerging to build a practical vision of equal justice. The next step is to use this progress to develop a cohesive framework and move forward in a more coordinated way.

In Vancouver, from April 25 to 27, we will begin a new era of strategic collaboration. We will work together to envision equal justice and develop practical strategies, skills and tools for building a more just society through enhanced and effective approaches for resolving legal problems.

The Envisioning Equal Justice Summit will start off with an evening opening session, followed by two-days of inspiring, educational, interactive sessions to explore solutions and build skills to address a growing access to justice gap. Innovators and knowledge leaders from Canada and around the world will ask the tough questions and outline leading edge strategies for solutions. The Summit will also highlight the work of the National Action Committee on Access to Justice in Civil and Family Matters and the CBA’s Envisioning Equal Justice Initiative.

Join us, contribute your views to a practical vision of equal justice and take home new ideas to use in your own work. We have applied for at least 12 hours of Professional Development credit and 1.5 hours of programming on ethical and professional responsibility issues.
