THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 12:30 PM TO 1:45 PM ET

12:30 pm – 1:45 pm How Will Sustainability Requirements and Trends Reshape Competition Law?

With growing support to initiatives addressing climate change and, more broadly, supporting sustainable growth, the interaction between competition and sustainability objectives is under scrutiny. This panel will discuss how environmental and other sustainability cooperation have been analyzed thus far, and whether additional guidance is needed to ensure that competition law does not create barriers to companies considering cooperating on sustainability efforts. The session will also address whether economic and environmental sustainability should be relevant factors, including as part of merger reviews, and if so how will they be incorporated into Canadian competition law.

Emrys Davis, Bennet Jones LLP
Nicole Kar, Linklaters LLP
