Jordan Update: COVID Impact on the s. 11(b) Right to Trial Within a Reasonable Time

This program will provide an update on the s. 11(b) Charter right to trial within a reasonable time and the many issues which have been resolved since the 2017 Jordan decision.

Particular focus will be given to issues that have arisen in the context of COVID-19 related-delays, including how these delays have been characterized to date, and how they may be addressed in the future as COVID-19 becomes a more anticipated and regular factor in scheduling criminal cases.
