Internal Investigations of White-Collar Crimes: Dos and Don’ts

On December 9, 2022, to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, the Canadian Bar Association introduced a comprehensive new guide that outlines best practices to conduct an internal investigation into allegations of bribery, corruption, and other white-collar crimes. The Guide for Internal Investigations of White-Collar Crime is designed to help corporations and their legal advisors conduct internal investigations.

Using the CBA Anti-Corruption Team’s “Guide for Internal Investigations of White-Collar Crime” as a backdrop, join us for this webinar that will discuss best practices for conducting internal investigations into allegations of white-collar crimes.  Key topics to be addressed will include the following:

1. Circumstances/considerations that may require an internal investigation
2. Cooperating with enforcement agencies
3. Solicitor-client privilege issues
4. Independence of the investigation counsel
5. Document preservation, collection and review
6. Witness interviews (and employee witnesses)
7. Multi-jurisdiction investigations

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to gain key knowledge and concrete practice tools related to internal investigations of while collar crime.
