Crowdfunding: What You Need to Know (Recording)

Mar. 31, 2015
Online

Presented by the Business Law Section and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association

In Canada, exempt market dealers can sell securities on the Internet under existing prospectus exemptions. “Crowdfunding” is a term used to describe the process of selling securities on-line to qualified investors under the offering memorandum prospectus exemption. Certain jurisdictions have published a proposed framework for a specific equity crowdfunding framework.

In this informative webinar, our knowledgeable presenters will explain:
  • the difference between equity and non-equity crowdfunding in Canada and globally;
  • how your clients can raise capital on the Internet;
  • how to set up a registered dealer to legally sell securities on the Internet; and
  • opportunities for you and your practice in 2015.

This webinar will set the stage for the pending release from certain securities regulators of what will potentially be the final version of a crowdfunding framework in 2015 for certain jurisdictions in Canada.
