Warren Zevon said it best with his song “Lawyers, Guns and Money”. Prof. Bill Kosar has dodged RPGs in Afghanistan, gained intimate knowledge of the term “heat stroke” in Kuwait, acquired agility in the streets of Vietnam, jumped over dead bulls in South Sudan and almost bought a farm in Bosnia & Herzegovina. He has also taken the time to adopt elephants in Kenya, get twirled around a dance floor by a Cabinet minister in Rwanda and meet a long lost mentee after 15 years in Uganda. This is what a career in international law in war zones and post-conflict environments means. Learn how you too can quit the mundane rat race, widen your intellectual horizons, truly meet humanity and get paid rather well for it!

Speaker:  Prof. William (“Bill”) Kosar has worked throughout the world assisting governments and private sector entities in post-war environments with legal reform, legislative drafting and capacity building. He is currently with UNDP in Rwanda as a Senior Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Justice as well as concurrently working in Afghanistan on amendments to the Procurement Law to allow for Public Private Partnerships.

Recently he completed a USAID-funded assignment with Deloitte Consulting as a Legal & Legislative Advisor to the Ministry of Legal Affairs & Constitutional Development of the Government of Southern Sudan. In that role he provided strategic advice on the Transitional Constitution, drafted over 40 laws, and trained and mentored dozens of government lawyers. The last time Bill Kosar spoke to us (about his work in Afghanistan) there was standing room only.  Register early, space is limited.
