PART I – Don Arsenault

"Bringing a Deposit to Production", drawn from his firm’s widely-acclaimed longer programs, "Mining for Non-Miners" and "Smart Mining". Using slides, Don will deal in condensed format with key minerals and resource locations, and mining processes from geology through engineering to production. This will be from the industry perspective.
This program will enhance operational understanding of the industry for lawyers at all levels of experience.

PART II – Kenning Marchant

"Mining: New Regulations and Other Developments", a discussion on the interface of mining and aboriginal interests and related court cases on natural resource development and aboriginal and treaty rights. Ontario is proposing new regulations under the 2009 Mining Act to clarify the Ministry's intentions for both aboriginal parties and proponents.
The objective of this program is to consider the most recent developments for lawyers practising aboriginal law or natural resources law.
