This year's Institute program will review some of the trends in the current case law, and how recent decisions have transformed, reformed, or restored basic principles in family law. The program will also provide practical tips and review substantive case law for challenging issues facing family law practitioners. With an address by The Honourable R. John Harper and judges from both courts. As well as include, Phil Epstein's "Year in Review" which will provide a review of the important family law cases in the last year. Also, appearing by video, will be Sharon Strand Ellison, esteemed author of the book, Taking the War Out of Our Words and creator of the "Powerful Non-Defensive Communication" process. Ms. Strand Ellison will provide insightful strategies and practical tools that will facilitate more effective communication, help to eliminate defensiveness, de-escalate conflict and set the framework for meaningful conflict resolution.
