Queer Perspectives on Professional Challenges and Mental Health

Jun. 13, 2023
ON

JOINT Law Society of Ontario and OBA Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community WEBINAR | 5:30 PM to 7:15 PM (ET)

This program will focus on the unique, and not so unique, challenges that queer people experience in the legal profession—from workplace dynamics to client relationships—and the impact of those challenges.

When former Chief Justice Strathy published, “The Litigator and Mental Health,” he observed that subtle acts of exclusion can cause 2SLGBTQI+ counsel to experience isolation, uncertainty, and stress. Our panel will discuss the ways in which those subtle acts of exclusion can manifest in our profession, their impacts, the underlying attitudes that can animate them, and what might be done to address them.

Join us for an informative panel discussion and Q&A featuring 2SLGBTQI+ practitioners. We encourage allies in the profession to attend.
