TOPIC: Experiences in Dispute Resolution within Corporate Counsel Practices, Situational Examples and Discussion of Process and Principle.
The speaker is Mr. William J. Hartnett, Q.C., who until his retirement last year was the Vice President and General Counsel of Imperial Oil and responsible for Canadian litigation and arbitration, active in the Canadian Bar Association, Alberta General Counsel Association and the ADR Institute of Canada. Mr. Hartnett will share his wisdom and expertise on themes of:
- Reflections and learning as General Counsel at Imperial Oil
- How ethical ADR practices fit the unique role of Corporate Counsel
- Value of drafting ethical and insightful Dispute Resolution clauses vs. standard clauses of the past
- Why Corporate Counsel should see value in their organizations examining these practices or belonging to ADR Canada
