Presented by CBA's National Labour and Employment Law Section

Conversions of defined benefit (DB) pension plans to defined contribution (DC) pension plans have been gaining momentum as a result of a number of factors, including affordability, demographic shifts in the labour force, and global economic challenges affecting both markets and corporate security.  Union and management lawyers face many challenges in navigating these transitions with their clients.

The significance of pronouncements in recent related cases in courts and tribunals, along with practical strategies and tips for negotiating revised pension provisions in collective agreements will be addressed.
